The recall effort against Seattle City Councilmember Kshama Sawant seems to have succeeded, with petitioners having over 11,000 signatures and needing 10,687. The recall is temporarily set for December 7. Sawant is the first socialist elected to Seattle's council in 100 years.
There's been quite a number of twists and turns to this one. The recall is over Sawant's conduct during the Seattle riots and her failing to comply with public disclosure requirements after she led protestors to the Mayor's house.
