Michigan: Petitions started for Forest Hills School Board members

Petitions to recall five Forest Hills School Board members President Mary Vonck, VP Marti Atwater, Secrtary Suzanne Callahan, Treasurer Nicole Meloche-Gregory and Trustee Kristen Covelle is being ruled on for factualness and clarity. There is some debate about the reason for the recall, with the backers claiming transportation and transparency (specifically live-streaming meetings). Others say that the focus is the board's support for efforts to ward off the coronavirus pandemic. A look at the backers website suggests that the pandemic response (and a off-handed reference to critical race theory) is a likely motivation.

Petitioners would need 6916 signatures per candidate. The recall would cost an estimated $100,000 (and could not be held before May).
