Pennsylvania: House Representative proposing recall law for local officials

House Representative Joe D'Orsie (R) is proposing a law to allow for recalls against county or municipal officials. Like a recent proposal in Oklahoma, this plan requires the House of Representatives to propose the recall, rather than a signature gathering effort.

The bill is being backed by the hard-right PA Freedom Caucus and seems to be precipitated by the vote counting battle in Bucks County following the Senate election. 

Note that Pennsylvania is probably the only state that has had the courts specifically bar recall laws.
