The first petitions filed against Walz was rejected by the Minnesota Supreme Court. Minnesota is a malfeasance standard state and would require petitioners to meet a stringent requirement of malfeasance to get on the ballot. Minnesota has generally reject all recalls since its state law was approved in 1996. However, in 2018 there was a recall against Tracy Councilman Tony Peterson (he survived the vote).
If approved, petitioners would need about 646,000 signatures to get on the ballot.
