Texas: Forest Hill Mayor indicted for alleged false witnessing of signatures on recall petition

Forest Hill Mayor Gerald Joubert has been indicted on witness tampering charges for claims that he did not properly witness the signatures on a recall effort last year to remove former Councilwoman Stephanie Boardman.

The recall attempt against Councilwoman Stephanie Boardingham was tossed out. Petitioners claimed about her vote on matter dealing with her business (a market), spending money on car rentals and hotel rooms. She also filed a lawsuit against the city in 2016 over a flea market that she operated. Petitioners handed in 322 signatures.
