Georgia: Judge set to hear arguments against Hoschton Mayor, Councilman recall over racist comments/behavior

A judge is set to hear arguments in the recall of Hoschton Mayor Theresa Kenerly and Councilman Jim Cleveland after the revelation that Kenerly allegedly withheld consideration of a city administrator candidate because he was black. In an interview, Cleveland discussed his opposition to interracial marriage due to his "Christian beliefs." Georgia has a malfeasance standard rule and they claim that the recall reasons do not meet the "for cause" requirement for a recall.

Petitioners handed in 270 signatures to push through the first stage of the recall they need 96 valids.
