Michigan: Jackson Councilwoman resigns in face of upcoming recall election

Facing a recall vote on May 5, Jackson Councilwoman Kelsey Heck has resigned over a vote to approve a traffic circle. Petitioners handed in 320 signatures  and needed 226.

Heck was appointed to the seat after the resignation of her predecessor. A former council candidate, Susan Murdie, is leading the recall effort. The replacement will be appointed.
