Mayor Jasiel Correia II has announced that he will not resign and will face an upcoming recall vote. The Council will meet on January 2 and can set a recall for March 12 or later. 4533 valid signatures were turned in for the recall of Correia, who was arrested on federal wire and tax fraud charges for defrauding investors.
Fall River recalled and removed Mayor Will Flanagan in 2014. Flanagan is a potential candidate in a recall race.
