New Jersey: Petitioners handed in signatures against Mahwah Mayor

Petitioners handed in signatures against Mayor Bill Laforet --they need 4150 to get on the ballot. The issue was is opposition to an ordinance which bans non-New Jersey residents from using township parks, as well as an anti-Eruv ordinance. The law is allegedly aimed at Orthodox Jews from Rockland County in NY. The state has filed civil rights suits against the town, and the Town Council effectively rescinded the ordinance.
