Texas: Former El Paso Mayor settles suit against Bishop who tried to recall him in 2011
Former El Paso Mayor John Cook has settled his suit against Bishop Tom Brown over damages and attorneys fees over Brown's recall effort against him and City Representatives Susie Byrd and Steve Ortega. This was a big recall, resulting in a controversial (at least in these parts) decision on the city's recall law. Brown was suing for $700,000, and the settlement is undisclosed.
