UK: Conservative MP Chris Davies will be candidate for in by-election for his seat that was vacated by recall petition

The Conservative Party is keeping Brecon and Radnor MP Chris Davies as the candidate in the upcoming byelection that was forced by a recall petition. Davies was removed after 10,005 signatures were handed in (petitioners needed 5303 (10% of voters) to get on the ballot.

Davies was fined 1500 pounds and hit with 50 hours of community service over two false expense invoices for landscape photographs. Since the sentence was under 12 months, he is not automatically ousted.

The election will take place on July 25 or August 1.
