Rhode Island: Recalled Providence City Councilman sentenced to 18 months in jail for embezzlement

City Councilor Kevin Jackson, who was  kicked out in a recall in 2017 after being indicted for alleged theft from a local track and field club as well as misuse of campaign funds, was sentenced to 18 months for embezzlement after pleading no contest to the charges. Jackson was also sentenced to a concurrent year for campaign finance violations.
