MSP Graham Simpson (Tory) has put forward a recall bill for breaching rules, as well as a law which would give voters the power to remove an MSP who doesn't "take part in parliamentary proceedings for more than six months without a valid reason."
The former Finance Secretary Derek Mackay resigned from that job in February 2020 over allegations of inappropriate social media with a 16-year old boy, but stayed on as an MSP until May 2021 without showing up.
