Colorado: Fremont County Sheriff, target of 2017 recall effort, resigns

Sheriff Jim Beicker (R), who was targeted for a recall in 2017 over the confiscation of horses in an alleged animal cruelty case, a civil lawsuit of a the death of an inmate and a Lieutenant who was facing charges of misconduct and abuse of public records for keeping evidence to an old homicide in a storage unit, resigned. Petitioners could not get the 4166 signatures at the time.
