Texas: Bowie Mayor and Council facing recall threats

Bowie Mayor Scott Davis and Councilors Chuck Malone, Wayne Bell, Terry Gunter, Douglas Boyd and Jim Graham are facing a recall threat (one of the councilors was appointed on June 20 and is not eligible). Petitioners need 628 signatures, though there was a discussion of the amount needed for a referendum election (which is 381 signatures). The issue is an increase in utility rates and a demand for a reduction in the electricity rate.
