Oregon: Petitions taken out against three Salem Keizer School Board members

Salem-Keizer School Board Chair Ashley Carson Cottingham, and members Osvaldo Avila and Karina Guzman Ortiz are facing recall efforts over their vote to ban concealed carry permit holders from carrying guns in school, keeping books on gender and sexuality in school libraries and the handling of public comments during meetings. 

Petitioners need 16283 signatures by November 23 to get on the ballot.

Marion County's Central School District held a recall in 2011 (resulting in removal). There was also a failed effort in Cascade School Board in 1990.

Update: The recall failed to get the signatures.
