Missouri: Nixa Councilmember resigns in face of recall effort

Nixa City Councilmember Any Hoogstraet resigned in the face of a recall effort over what she said is criticism of her work as youth services coordinator at the GLO Center and her advocacy for LGBTQ residents. The petitions seemed to be focused on complaints about undermined the authority of the City Administrator.

Nixa's Mayor survived a recall vote in 2021.
