Bellevue is looking to allow the City Council to have the right to eject members for two reasons, misconduct or "sharing information from closed sessions that aren't open to the public." This proposal is being criticized as a "dictatorship" move by
Councilman Pat Shannon, who himself faced a failed recall effort in 2017 and has been criticized by various media outlets for chilling speech and preventing potential whistleblowers.
