The backers of a recall effort against
Senator Josh Newman, who submitted about 85,000 signatures for a recall effort, have sued to challenge the law that extends the amount of time between a petition and an election as well as gives voters the chance to remove their signatures from the petition. The suit focuses on provision that calls for the state's Department of Finance to give a review of the cost of the recall election, which has no timetable to when the review needs to be finished.
