Both parties
have chosen their candidates for the February 28 replacement election. The date of the vote, the same day as the Republican presidential primary, should benefit the Republican candidate. It does show how much of a difference the process makes in a recall. The "offending" official is no longer on the ballot, and it stops being a direct race against an unpopular elected official. It's more of a straight election. Much different than in Arizona, California or Wisconsin.
